Thom Williams

Director of Videography

Thom Williams has been wielding a camera to capture life’s beautiful moments since junior high school, back in the age of film. This is his second go around wearing the Photography Director hat for a major production, and he welcomes the challenge of documenting the Stitched movement as it progresses toward the runway show in September. The show itself is going to be monumental and he is looking forward to being there to capture the pinnacle of the team’s hard work and effort.

Thom’s journey as a commercial and fine art photographer has not been a straight one. A graduate of SUNY Oswego with a BFA in graphic design and photography, his creative career was sidetracked in pursuit of more “practical” professions that allowed him to develop invaluable skills. Before launching into a 15 year entrepreneurial detour, he worked for two Fortune 500 companies, honed his people skills, and gained priceless business insight. He then went on to own two local music stores, an online music retail business and had a brief stint as a cafe owner. Later, he took to expressing his creative energy by rehabbing and flipping houses. In the end, it all comes down to creativity for Thom and the call of the camera which has been too loud to ignore.

Over the past few years, Thom has been re-energized by photography and has quickly become a name in the area. He is one of the rare local photographers that have found success in both commercial and fine art photography. His commercial work has graced the pages of Saratoga Living Magazine, The Alt newspaper, Times Union newspaper, many national magazines and even News Channel 13. Thom has had two solo art shows and has had his work on exhibit in several prominent local and out of area galleries. His artistry, personable communication skills, and entrepreneurial experience will be at the disposal of Stitched throughout the planning process and beyond to create a fashion experience that the Capital Region truly deserves.
